The Indian conglomerate Punj Lloyd and its JV Partner, Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) inaugurated last week India’s first private sector small arms manufacturing plant at Malanpur in Madhya Pradesh. The joint venture company, Punj Lloyd Raksha Systems (PLR) will be manufacturing small arms for the Indian Defense Forces as well as for export.

Leading French presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron's campaign said on Friday it had been the target of a "massive" computer hack that dumped its campaign emails online 1-1/2 days before the French presidential elections.

In a statement, Macron's political movement En Marche! (Onwards!) confirmed that it had been hacked. "The En Marche! Movement has been the victim of a massive and coordinated hack this evening which has given rise to the diffusion on social media of various internal information," the statement said.

Report: Syria Government 'Producing Chemical Weapons at Research Facilities'

A document says chemical and biological munitions are produced at three main sites near Damascus and Hama, reports the BBC. It alleges that both Iran and Russia, the government's allies, are aware.

The intelligence document obtained by the BBC says Syria's chemical weapons are manufactured at three sites – Masyaf, in Hama province, and at Dummar and Barzeh, both just outside Damascus. All three are branches of the Scientific Studies and Research Centre (SSRC), a government agency, it adds.

Israel, Japan Sign Cyber Cooperation Agreement

The Israeli and Japanese economy ministers on Wednesday signed two agreements in Jerusalem that call for collaboration on both business and cyber security ventures in a bid to double the trade volume between the two countries.

Turkey's Anka UAV Undergoes Weapons Trials

Turkey has conducted test firings of domestically manufactured weapons from its Anka unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the Defense Industries Undersecretariat (SSM) announced account on 28 April.

Images posted on both the SSM and Turkish defense ministry Twitter accounts showed the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) Anka UAV carrying a combination of Roketsan MAM-L precision-guided bombs (PGBs), Cirit guided rockets, and UMTAS long-range anti-tank missiles. One image also showed the Anka to be equipped with the Aselsan electro-optic/infrared (EO/IR) sensor.
