Some 600 people and 30 companies gathered Tuesday at Capital One headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia, to meet technology company executives, startups, government officials and contractors, investors, leading academics and legal, media and marketing professionals changing the global cyber landscape.

The US Army’s Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley hinted to Congress last week that the service has decided to equip its armored vehicles with Israeli-made anti-missile technology.

Gen. Milley described active protection systems as a "critical need" for the Army.

"We are investing in that right now," he said. "There are only two countries whose industries produce complete systems … one of them is friendly; one of them is not so friendly," he added, referring to Israel and Russia.

The US military has moved its High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) from Jordan into southern Syria for the first time, positioning it near the US-Coalition training base at At-Tanf, three US defense officials confirmed to CNN Tuesday.

While war is raging in many regions of Syria, some industrial plants remain unscathed by the conflict in government-controlled areas. One such factory, located in the Syrian capital Damascus, repairs tanks and other armored vehicles.

India and Israel are close to signing a deal for Spike Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGM) worth an estimated USD500 million. The deal is expected to be discussed next month when Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits Israel.

Israel and the US Missile Defense Agency (MDA) will reportedly test the Arrow-3 anti-ballistic missile system in Alaska.

The test will take place at Alaska’s Kodiak test site and is scheduled to be accomplished within few months, Israel’s Channel 2 News reported Sunday.

The system is set to be tested against a target similar in behavior to the advanced ballistic missiles, which are currently being developed, and have already been achieved, by Iran.

Israel's Ministry of Defense recently sent a letter to the US Department of Defense to complete the purchase of 17 F-35 jets, Israel's Walla News reported on Thursday. Each plane costs approximately US$100 million. The acquisition was first announced in November 2016, and brings the total number of F-35s purchased by Israel to 50.

Israel is the only country in the Middle East to have the jet, which was not included in the recent arms deal signed between the US and Saudi Arabia.

"…Without sustained, sufficient, and predictable funding, I assess that within 5 years we will lose our ability to project power; the basis of how we defend the homeland, advance U.S. interests, and meet our alliance commitments," stated Gen. Joseph Dunford, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in a hearing before the House Armed Services Committee.
