IAI Launches New Hauled Self-Defense Pod

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) released a new electronic warfare system which provides an added layer of self-defense for aircraft. The system, developed by IAI's intelligence subsidiary ELTA Group, is hauled by the aircraft, protecting it by acting as a distractor to radar-guided missiles. The new hauled "bait," named ELL-8270, will be displayed at the Singapore Airshow next week.

Former CIA Chief: "Israel is a cyber superpower"

"Israel is a cyber superpower," said Gen. (ret.) David Petraeus, former head of the CIA, in a joint discussion on cyber threats and solutions with Nadav Tsafrir, CEO of TEAM8 and Former commander of the IDF's elite 8200 Unit.

"According to various foreign publications, our cooperation has harmed Iran's nuclear program significantly, so I am glad to sit here with Nadav. The 'bad guys' show more creativity and ability to perform in a more complicated form."

"It's imperative to develop innovative, sixth-generation defenses"

Gil Shwed, Founder and CEO of Check Point, said at the opening plenary of the Cybertech Tel Aviv conference that "the cyber-attacks of 2018 are fifth-generation attacks, but the defenses are of second- or third-generation. In other words, there is a 10- to 15-year technology lag. How do we cope with this lag? It is imperative to develop innovative, sophisticated, sixth-generation defenses, in order to defeat today's attacks."

Tel Aviv University Launches New Small Satellites Construction Center

Tel Aviv University launched a new space exploration center focused on miniature shoebox-sized satellites. The center will be founded with the support of The Porter Foundation, a charitable trust with offices in the UK and Israel that focuses on environmental issues, education, and social causes.

IAI to Compete for USAF's A-10 Wing Replacement Program

The US Air Force is searching for a new company to rebuild wings on the A-10 ground-attack plane after ending an arrangement with Boeing. The contract calls for replacing up to 242 sets of wings, and Boeing has so far received orders to replace 173, said a spokesperson for the Air Force.

Cybertech Tel Aviv 2018 is Underway

Over 15,000 people are expected to participate at Cybertech TLV 2018, the largest cyber event outside the USA. Some 170 high-profile speakers from around the world are scheduled to address the three-day conference, and 125 companies along with 90 startups are showcasing their technologies and solutions at the exhibition. Also, 160 delegations from 78 countries are expected to visit Cybertech Tel Aviv during the coming days.

Cybertech 2018: A Glimpse into ISA's Cyber Activities

Cybertech Tel Aviv, the largest cyber event outside the US, will begin today at the Tel Aviv Convention Center. The Israel Security Agency (ISA, aka Shabak, Shin-Bet) will take part in the exhibition and present for the first time a virtual reality (VR) experience that will provide a glimpse into the agency's technological and preventive efforts. Cyberbit to Provide Endpoint Protection for Bank of Jerusalem

Cyberbit, a provider of cybersecurity products for detection, response, and training across IT and OT systems, announced today it would supply the Bank of Jerusalem with Cyberbit Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) in order to protect the organization's endpoints from advanced threats. The selection criteria focused on detecting unknown, targeted, and file-less attacks and on ransomware prevention capabilities.
