Russian arms manufacturer Kalashnikov has announced it will launch a range of autonomous combat vehicles which will use artificial intelligence to identify targets and make decisions on their own, Vice News reported.

Iran Launches Mass Production Line of Sayyad-3 Missiles

Sayyad-3 Missile production line was launched on Saturday morning, according to the Iranian Mehr News Agency.

Sayyad-3 high-altitude air-defense missile has been designed with a range of 120 km and a 27-km flight altitude against airborne threats at medium and long range. A number of missiles were already delivered to Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base

IAI, PGZ to Cooperate in Polish Military Programs

Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A (PGZ) and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) concerning, among others, tactical loitering unmanned aircraft systems, aerial reconnaissance systems, electronic warfare systems, multi-mission transformer tanker and aviation platforms.

The execution of the collaboration agreement constitutes another step towards establishing a business partnership between PGZ S.A., IAI and ELTA Systems, IAI's subsidiary.

The first flight of Russia's super heavy-lift carrier rocket with modernized RD-171MV engines is planned in 2028, the Energomash Corporation said on Wednesday.

The new rocket is based on the suspended Soviet-era Energia-Buran project. 

"The launch of the super heavy-class launch vehicle equipped with modernized RD-171MV engines is planned in 2028," according to the engine manufacturer's presentation at the MAKS 2017 Air Show.

Aeronautics Set to Buy a US Defense Company

Israeli unmanned systems developer Aeronautics has notified the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) that it is set to buy a US defense company for $6 million. The two companies are currently holding talks, and if all goes according to plan, the Israeli company will seal the deal by the end of September.

Acquiring a US company will provide Aeronautics with a platform to consolidate its operations in the US and allow it to undertake orders paid for US military aid, as do other Israeli defense industries such as Elbit Systems and IAI.

IAF Upgrades its Lavi Training Aircraft

The "Lavi" (M-346) aircraft has ushered the IAF into a new era in terms of instruction and has brought along an essential change in IAF fighter pilot and WSO (Weapon Systems Operator) training. Recently, the aircraft has been upgraded to include new features, upon the completion of a series of tests conducted by the IAF's Flight Test Squadron, which is positioned in Tel-Nof AFB. One of these features is an updated program block, which enables the aircraft to carry training munition and detachable fuel tanks.
