The process known as risk assessment is a part of nearly every professional activity in our life. As such, it is an important instrument that accompanies every thinking process associated with the need to make short-term, intermediate-term and long-term decisions.

Why, then, is it important to analyze the risk assessment process without detaching it from the risk management process?

ISA Uncovers Hamas-Turkey Money Transfer Scheme

The Israel Security Agency (ISA), Israel Police, and the IDF have recently uncovered a mechanism for the transfer of money by couriers between the Hamas headquarters in Turkey, the Gaza Strip and Hebron.

According to the ISA announcement, the axis began operations in early 2016, at the initiation of Muhammad Maher Bader, a Hebron-based senior Hamas terrorist and member of the PA Legislative Council. Bader recruited two Hamas Hebron residents to transfer illegal funds, who were sent to Turkey under the guise of business trips.

Qatar, Italy Sign $6B Deal for Naval Vessels

Qatar confirmed its order for seven vessels from Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri following the signing of a preliminary contract in June 2016. The deal consists in four air defense corvettes, one amphibious vessel (LPD – Landing Platform Dock acting as mobile radar station for the corvettes), and two patrol vessels (OPV – Offshore Patrol Vessel).

Saab Delivers Integrated CBRN Center to Kuwait

Saab, in collaboration with its Kuwaiti partner Bader Sultan & Bros, delivered the world´s first integrated national chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) center to Kuwait.

The operational CBRN center covers the whole country with fixed and mobile CBRN sensors and units, according to Saab.

IAI's VENUS, OPTSAT-3000 Satellites Successfully Launched into Space

Two IAI-made satellites were successfully launched on board the Arianespace's Vega launcher early Wednesday morning at the Guiana Space Center’s Kourou site.

Israel's first environmental research satellite, Venus, is a major project of the Israel Space Agency and the French space agency CNES. It was launched together with the OPTSAT-3000, an advanced observation satellite designed for use by the Italian Defense Ministry.

China Opens First Overseas Base in Djibouti

China formally opened its first overseas military base in Djibouti, on August 1, 2017. Chinese state radio said more than 300 people attended the flag raising ceremony, including deputy Chinese naval commander Tian Zhong and Djibouti's defense minister.

A Chinese flotilla that included two ships carrying Chinese military personnel departed Zhanjiang in southern China's Guangdong Province on July 11, 2017, to set up a support base in Djibouti.

Plasan Sasa, an Israeli manufacturer of armor protection solutions for vehicles, has unveiled a new variant of their SandCat-Stormer armored vehicle, for the first time following serial delivery to an international client – the Stormer RCWS/MLS.

The new Stormer vehicle incorporates Rafael Advanced Defense Systems' dual Samson Mini RWS system that includes two Spike LR antitank guided missiles (ATGM) and a 12.7mm heavy machine gun (HMG) with a 150-round magazine.
