The planes will be used as armed observation aircraft, a security source in Lebanon said, and represent a big upgrade for the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF).

Earlier this month, Israel said Hezbollah, an Iran-backed Shi‘ite Muslim movement, had gained control over Lebanon’s conventional military, a charge the Lebanese army denies.

The 19th Congress of the Communist Party of China

When, in 1972, Nixon pointed out to Mao Zedong that "the Chinese President changed the world", Mao just answered "no, only something on the outskirts of Beijing."

In the mind of the Chinese President, a Taoist poet, that was the sense of the natural centrality of the "Middle Empire" compared to the First World (the United States and the USSR, namely "the barbarians of the North"), to the Second World (namely the  servants of either power) and to the Third World, the region that was bound to be represented and dominated by China

Integrative Cyber Defense

In recent years, the realization that the dynamics of the cybersecurity scene are becoming much more similar to those of a military command scene than to those of a private security scene is becoming increasingly widespread.

Is Israel's Air Superiority in Danger?

Fifty years ago, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) opened the Six-Day War by launching Operation Moked, which eliminated the aerial capabilities of Egypt, Syria and Jordan and even had an effect on the air power of Iraq. Since then, it was clear that Israel's national security relies, to a considerable extent, on her air superiority.

The Kahane Affair

Only a few days ago, Brigadier-General Mordechai Kahane was still manning one of the dullest positions at the top echelon of IDF. As the IDF's Chief Combat Intelligence Collection Officer, Kahane was not in charge of the actual employment of any operational forces. His responsibilities included the training and doctrine of the IDF Combat Intelligence Collection Corps which is, in fact, the smallest corps in the IDF Ground Arm and in the IDF as a whole. Actually, this corps is the reincarnation of a setup known in the past as "Field Intelligence".
