Egypt, Greece Concluded Joint Military Exercise "Medusa 5"

Egyptian and Greek naval and air forces have conducted a joint exercise in Greek territorial waters in the Mediterranean Sea. The "Medusa 5" drill, held from October 29 to November 4, 2017, included coordinated naval and air military operations, day and night sailing formations, search and rescue operations by naval units, as well as submarine tracking. The drill also included training in aerial scouting, defensive and offensive air strikes, and targeting or defending marine targets. The exercise was attended by top military officials from both Egypt and Greece.

IAF Launched Exercise Blue Flag 2017

Blue Flag 2017, the largest international aerial training exercise in Israel’s history, began today upon the arrival of aircraft from seven different air forces to Ouvda AFB. Throughout the combined training exercise, held this year for the third time, the visiting squadrons will fly alongside Israeli squadrons.

Egypt's Naval Forces Received South Korean Corvette

A Pohang-class corvette presented by the government of South Korea to Egypt arrived at the Alexandria, Ras El-Teen naval base on October 26, 2017. Once the Corvette entered Egyptian naval service, it was named ENS Shabab Misr (Youth of Egypt).

The 'Egypt Youth' Corvette was gifted to Egypt as part of wider efforts to bolster military relations between the two countries' armed forces and to boost cooperation in all fields, the Egyptian military said in a statement.
