Rafael Completes First-Ever Missile Firing from its "Protector" USV

Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. recently completed the development of an additional mission module for its Protector Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV), in use by a number of naval fleets around the world, including the Israeli Navy.

The development was completed as part of a series of successful tests performed by Rafael, in which a number of missiles were launched from the Protector and hit simulated enemy targets. This was the first-ever missile firing from an operational, remote-controlled USV.

Israeli Defense Minister Met with Senior US Officials

Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman made his first official visit to Washington since the installation of President Donald Trump.

Lieberman met with senior administration officials during his visit, including Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Defense Secretary James Mattis.

According to Pentagon Spokesman Capt. Jeff Davis, Lieberman and Mattis "discussed in detail the US-Israeli defense relationship. Secretary Mattis reaffirmed the US commitment to Israel's security and qualitative military edge. 

IDF's Combat Gear Revolution

The IDF started a project that will supply each soldier new and upgraded equipment in accordance with his tasks and assignment, reports the Jerusalem Online. The distribution of equipment will be evaluated following the training phases of basic and advanced training. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit stated that the project is an investment worth tens of millions of shekels.
