Palestinian professor Fadi Mohammad al-Batsh, 35, was killed in a drive-by shooting on April 21, 2018, in Kuala Lumpur. Batsh was reportedly walking from his apartment to dawn prayers at a local mosque in the Kuala Lumpur suburb of Gombak when he was shot by two gunmen riding a motorcycle. Ismail Haniyeh accused Israeli spy agency Mossad of the assassination.

US Senators Look to Block F-35 Delivery to Turkey

A bi-partisan group of US senators introduced a bill on 26 April to prevent the transfer of the Lockheed Martin F-35A to Turkey. The bill would also block Turkey’s role as a maintenance depot for the aircraft.

NATO member Turkey has ordered a total of 100 take-off and landing F-35As. The first batch of 14 aircraft is already purchased, with deliveries scheduled to begin later this year. A total of 30 F-35As are scheduled for delivery to the Turkish Air Force by the end of 2022.

Details on Mossad's Intelligence Gathering Operation in Iran Revealed

Israel’s spy agency Mossad infiltrated a compound in Tehran where Iran was storing confidential files related to its nuclear weapons program, stole tens of thousands of files, and managed to smuggle them back to Israel, The New York Times reported on Monday.

Reports: Missile Strikes Targeted Arms Depots in Syria

A missile attack in Syria's northern region has killed 26 pro-government fighters, mostly Iranians, local media reported on Monday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the late Sunday night attack appears to have been carried out by Israel and targeted an arms depot for surface-to-surface missiles at a base in northern Syria known as Brigade 47. The Observatory said four Syrians were also among casualties.

IAI Inaugurates New Office in Berlin

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has opened a new office in Germany to support its growing business in the European market. According to a company statement, the location for new office – Berlin – was chosen due to Germany’s central role in Europe and its strong alliance with Israel. It replaces IAI’s former office in Paris. The company said it views Germany as a key European market and as a platform for co-development of defense and aeronautics technologies.

Philippine Navy Receives Rafael's Spike-ER Missiles, Launchers, RCWS for MPAC MK3

After several delays in delivery, last week the Philippine Navy has received a shipment of Spike-ER short-range surface-to-surface missiles, Typhoon MLS-ER missile launchers, and Mini-Typhoon 12.7mm Remote Control Weapon Systems from Israeli defense company Rafael.

India's Tejas Test-Fires Rafael Derby BVR Missile

An LCA Tejas LSP-7 (KH-2017) of the Indian Air Force successfully fired a Derby BVR (beyond visual range) air-to-air missile from the western coast of the country while taking off from INS Hansa, Goa as a final step towards certifying the BVR.

The missile achieves Full Operational Capability, and the Tejas itself took a step forward towards achieving the FOC. 

Bahrain to Buy AH-l Z Attack Helicopters from the US

The US State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to Bahrain of AH-1Z attack helicopters for an estimated cost of $911.4 million.

The Government of Bahrain has requested 12 AH-1Z attack helicopters, 26 T-700 GE 401C engines (24 installed and two spares), 14 AGM-114 Hellfire Missiles, and 56 Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System II (APKWS-II) WGU-59Bs.

On October 31 last, Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov, an Uzbek national, drove into Manhattan in a rented pickup truck and ran over passers-by along the Hudson River, until he was forced to stop after colliding with a school bus. He subsequently dismounted, brandishing a toy gun and an air rifle and shouting "Allah Hua Akbar!" and was eventually shot by policemen and wounded. Eight persons were killed in the attack, including five Argentinians and a Belgian, and 12 more were wounded.
