ISA Chief: 250 Major Terror Attacks Thwarted in 2018

Approximately 250 terrorist attacks were thwarted in Israel since January and more than 400 Palestinians planning isolated attacks were arrested, the head of the Israel Security Agency Nadav Argaman said on Wednesday.

Speaking at an international counter-terrorism conference held today by the Israeli Ministry of Public Security, Argaman said the attacks the ISA foiled this year include planned suicide attacks, kidnapping, and shootings.

Azerbaijan Buys LORA Weapon System from IAI

Azerbaijan recently took delivery of the IAI-made Long Range Artillery Weapon System, or LORA.

The system was displayed on Monday during an opening ceremony of a new military unit, participated by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev.

Eurosatory 2018: Epsilor’s 6T NATO Battery Displayed on a Mercedes-Benz Command Vehicle

Epsilor-Electric Fuel, a manufacturer of batteries and chargers for defense applications, together with Kissling Service, an integrator of vehicle-mounted defense systems, is demonstrating Epsilor’s 6T NATO battery (ELI-52526) on a Mercedes-Benz command vehicle at Eurosatory 2018.

According to Epsilor, the high-energy, high-power density battery is used to generate power for different users onboard the vehicle, providing it with all of its energy needs within a small volume and weight footprint.

IAI Completes POC of Rotem UAS with Successful Demo

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) recently performed a successful demonstration of its Rotem unmanned aerial system.

According to the company, the demo covered end-to-end capabilities of the Rotem, including fast assault of miniature target with utmost precision. The demonstration was held under tough field and weather conditions, highlighting the system’s ability to respond quickly and effectively to low signature enemy in a threatened space, IAI added.

IAI Unveils 3D On-The-Move AESA Tactical Air Defense Radar

The ELM-2138M Air Defense (AD) radar, revealed at Eurosatory 2018, features four full AESA staring panels for 360 degrees azimuth coverage and on-the-move surveillance capabilities.

The first contract of five ELM-2138M AD radars was recently signed with a European customer. The radars will be integrated into the joint airspace surveillance system by the end of 2019.
