New Airborne Weapon from IAI

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) unveils the MLGB (Medium Range Laser Guided Bomb) in the Paris Air Show (June 20-26, 2011).

The MLGB is capable of dual mode guidance: homing in on a target via a laser beam or feeding coordinates into its GPS mechanism. The bomb is designed to attack both stationary and mobile objects. Mission parameters are transmitted to the weapon prior to its release from the aircraft. Once in flight, it corrects its path until final approach to target.

Successful Flights for Elbit Systems' Skylark I LE UAS Operated by a Dominator Command & Control Unit Located on the Soldier's Vest

A series of successful tests of the Skylark I LE mini/man-pack UAS using the Dominator hardware to control and operate the UAS, were completed. During the tests, the Skylark was operated by a new cutting edge lightweight Forward Ground Control Station (FGCS) which utilizes the Dominator organic hardware solution. This new operational concept answers the modern battlefield's requirements for interoperability and SWAP (Size Weight and Power), enabling infantry forces to execute more complex missions in diverse arenas while offering enhanced operational flexibility.

IAI and Airbus Mega-Deal

In a special ceremony in the Paris Air Show at noon today, an agreement was signed between Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and the European aircraft manufacturer Airbus Military for the production of a new early warning aircraft. All that can be revealed is that the plane is designated for markets in several countries - apparently in South America.

"Heron" Reached Full Capability

The German Air Force recently announced that the Heron, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) advanced unmanned aerial system (UAV), has achieved full operational capability (FOC) under its activities in Afghanistan.

It's a significant milestone for the program, where IAI provided its Heron UAV system, together with its partner Rheinmetall Defence, to the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces). The program included full in-theatre logistical and maintenance services performed by Rheinmetall.

IAI Presents the MAPSAT (ELK 1895)

ELTA Systems Ltd., an Israel Aerospace Industries' group and subsidiary, presents the MAPSAT (ELK 1895) - a tactical Man Portable Satellite Communication (SATCOM) Terminal.

 

The system, weighting only 8.5 kg,. is carried by a single soldier operating in special missions. The terminal can be rapidly deployed and connected to predefined available commercial Ku-Band communication satellites.
