The US CENTCOM announced that yesterday (Saturday), US Army Vessel General Frank S. Besson departed Joint Base Langley-Eustis en route to the Eastern Mediterranean, carrying the first equipment to establish a temporary pier to deliver vital humanitarian supplies to the Gaza Strip. The announcement stressed the fact that this was done ‘less than 36 hours after President Biden announced the US would provide humanitarian assistance to Gaza by sea.”

Biden promised to establish a temporary port during his State of the Union Address on Thursday. Following this address, he was asked by a journalist who would provide security for the port, and briefly responded “The Israelis,” without commenting further.

Biden’s growing frustration with Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, when he was caught on a hot mic following the address saying to Senator Michael Bennet “ “I told him, Bibi, and don’t repeat this, but you and I are going to have a ‘come to Jesus’ meeting.”

During an interview he granted to MSNBC yesterday, Biden said that an Israeli operation in Gaza would be a “red line,” adding that Netanyahu is “hurting Israel more than helping Israel,” by his current actions and by not doing more to prevent civilian deaths in Gaza. However, he immediately said that “I’m never going to leave Israel,” thereby drawing the same distinction between the Israeli people and its government VP Kamala Harris drew on Friday.
