The Belgian army began receiving JLTV light tactical vehicles manufactured by Oshkosh Defense. The first unit to receive these vehicles is the Jagers te Paard battalion. These vehicles, called "Falcon" in the Belgian army, will replace the Lynx vehicles (LMV Lynx) made by the Italian company Iveco that are in the army's service.

In September, the Belgian government approved the acquisition of 322 Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs) from US-based Oshkosh Defense Company for the Belgian armed forces under a $160 million contract. The delivery of the first vehicles is expected in 2023.

These vehicles will be used for command and liaison missions and will provide better protection against mines and improvised explosive devices (IED). On 135 JTLV vehicles, remote-controlled weapon stations (RCWS) will be installed as a light machine gun FN DeFNder in caliber 7.62 mm manufactured by FN Herstal.
