L3Harris has been awarded a US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) contract to supply the next-generation tactical radios. The contract is worth $479 million. The exact number and type of devices were not disclosed, but they include maintenance and support services in addition to hardware. The contract initially runs for seven one-year periods.
L3Harris produces a variety of tactical radios, including the RO-X, AN/PRC-158, AN/PRC-163, AN/PRC-117G, or AN/PRC-171 Compact Team Radio, but as said, the selected model was not provided
