Israel at War, Day 109: 24 Israeli Soldiers Fell in Battles Against Hamas

Twenty-one fighters were killed in a terrible incident near Kissufim, some 600 meters from the Israeli border

IDF Spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, informed the Israeli public about an attack in which 21 IDF soldiers were killed yesterday (Monday) in Gaza. In addition, three more officers from the 202nd Paratroopers Battalion also fell in battle. In total, 24 IDF soldiers lost their lives yesterday. According to the journalist Itay Blumental, since the beginning of the ground maneuver in the Gaza Strip, 221 IDF soldiers have been killed.

The terrible incident occurred near Kissufim, approximately 600 meters from the Israeli border. According to the IDF spokesperson, around 4 pm, an anti-tank missile was fired towards a tank, and simultaneously, two two-story buildings imploded and collapsed on the soldiers.

The buildings imploded as a result of the detonation of explosive devices laid by IDF fighters in preparation for the demolition of the structures. Throughout the night, rescue and recovery forces operated to extract casualties and locate the victims.

The Al-Jaabari outpost

In the past few days, the combat teams of the 401st Brigade operating under Division 162 have been attacking military targets in the Darraj Tuffah area in the northern Gaza Strip. The fighters targeted the Al-Jaabari outpost, a training facility of the Hamas terrorist organization in the northern Gaza Strip. The base serves as one of the major centers for the training of terrorists.

As part of the raid, the fighters discovered an underground training facility, including an underground shooting range, an obstacle course for training terrorists, a swimming pool where the terrorists trained for sea infiltration scenarios, and a simulator that simulates mortar and personal weapon fire against IDF forces and offices of the base commanders. The combat forces destroyed all the structures. They also located a tunnel exit that connected to a two-kilometer-long attack tunnel belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization. The tunnel was also destroyed.

The Khan Yunis kasbah

Another recent area of fighting is the Khan Yunis kasbah in the Bnei Sohila neighborhood, where the Kfir Brigade has been operating. The forces discovered numerous combat means, weapons, explosives, grenades, ammunition, and rockets. During one of the raids, a homemade lathe was found and destroyed."

The Yiftah Brigade

Overnight, as part of the combat team's operation of the Yiftach Brigade in the central Gaza Strip, a group of terrorists approaching the forces was thwarted. Subsequently, several terrorists attempting to ambush the soldiers in the area were identified, and in collaboration with the Air Force, the fighters targeted and neutralized the terrorists using aerial assets.

In the northern Gaza Strip, the combat forces of the 5th Division identified an armed terrorist cell. The fighters responded with gunfire, eliminating one terrorist. They then directed an aerial asset from the Air Force, which neutralized the remaining terrorists, and a combat aircraft that destroyed the military structure where the cell operated.

The northern front

Air Force combat aircraft targeted terrorist infrastructure and observation positions of the Hezbollah terrorist organization in the villages of Blida and Aitaroun in southern Lebanon. Earlier, combat aircraft from the Air Force attacked a military structure in the area of Maroun al-Ras, where terrorists from the Hezbollah organization were present.

After the attack on the structure, numerous secondary explosions were observed, indicating the presence of combat materials at the site. Additionally, three observation posts and a military structure of the Hezbollah terrorist organization were attacked in spacious areas, including Shyahin, Taybeh, and Tir Harfa in southern Lebanon.
