Blinken arrives in Israel to prevent escalation on the Lebanese front

In Gaza, the IDF is moving to Phase III, which means they primarily conduct raids on specific Hamas targets

On the eve of his arrival in Israel, while in Greece, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said, "It is very important for Israel to have security on its northern border. As far as Israel is concerned, it is not interested and does not want escalation, but it must also be ready to defend itself." This was in response to Hezbollah firing on targets in Israel.

Regarding Gaza, Blinken said that "too many Palestinians have been killed there, especially children," and announced that he would manage Israel's humanitarian problems in the Strip.

The Secretary of State also said that Middle Eastern countries must use their influence on the involved parties to ensure that the conflict is moderated and that the endless cycle of violence is circumvented.

Before his arrival, it was reported that Blinken's main task this time was to calm the spirits in Lebanon and possibly prevent a war on this northern front.

The Washington Post wrote yesterday that there is concern in Washington that Prime Minister Netanyahu may see escalation as a key to political survival.

The newspaper published that according to US intelligence, the IDF will have difficulty succeeding in a war of two fronts (the north and the south). Blinken came to Israel mainly to prevent further intensification on the Lebanese front.

Yesterday, Hezbollah launched a missile at the IAF Northern Control Unit’s computer control unit on the heights of Mount Meiron. This unit serves as the eyes of the Israeli Air Force (IAF) in the country's north. The base was damaged, but the air control systems, located deep in the ground, continued to operate without problems. Rear Admiral Hagari reported that the IAF focused on attacking anti-aircraft batteries held by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

Yesterday, there was a cyber-attack on the Beirut airport by a group of hackers who call themselves "Soldiers of God." On the screens in the airport terminal, travelers could read inscriptions against Nasrallah and Hezbollah, such as "Nasrallah, don't go to war."

In Gaza, the IDF is moving to Phase III, which means mainly conducting raids on specific Hamas targets. There is still no decision in Israel on how to handle Rafah and the Philadelphi Route, close to the Egyptian border, where military activity is problematic.

Golani Brigade fighters identified and killed several Nakhaba terrorists while loading a vehicle with ammunition; the terrorists were destroyed. A unit of the Nahal Brigade located and destroyed a launch site from which shots were fired toward the Ashkelon area.

In the center of the Gaza Strip, Unit 646 operated, locating lathes to produce weapons and war materials and uncovering two tunnel shafts inside a building.
