The Spanish National Police continue to purchase Scorpion submachine guns manufactured by the Czech company CZ. The Spanish website Infodefense.com reports that in recent days the police concluded a third procurement in the last two years of a minimum of 1,250 Scorpion EVO3 A1 submachine guns for €2.141 million.

In total, to date, the police have purchased approximately 2,000 submachine guns over two years, since the end of 2021. Initially, at the end of 2021, 460 submachine guns were purchased at a value of 920,000 euros, and in August 2023, approximately 400 units were purchased at a value of 850,000 euros.

The Scorpion EVO is a submachine gun designed for intervention and elite units. The manufacturer points out that its main advantages are ergonomics, high precision in all shooting regimes (shot by shot, short burst of three shots, and full auto), and safety in all weather conditions.

It features a 30-round magazine capacity and four integrated mounting rails for installing accessories such as scopes, flashlights, or laser markers. The submachine gun, with a weight without a magazine of 2.6 kilos, has a highly resistant polymer frame, reinforced with fiberglass; folding telescopic stock; axially adjustable pistol grip; and ambidextrous control of the magazine catch. The length is 420 mm with the stock folded and 625 mm with the stock deployed.
