Lior Textiles Industries, an Israeli designer of ballistic protective vests for the IDF, supplied during the war thousands of units of the DRONE WARRIOR – a mini drone carry, deploy & operate tactical system for soldiers and tactical protective vests to IDF's soldiers.

The DRONE WARRIOR enables individual soldiers to operate drones in the field.  However, the soldiers face a host of new challenges, such as getting the drone to the mission’s area without damage; leaving enough space for other equipment and weapons; and taking the drone quickly and quietly out of its case.

Lior Tactical has been developing special body architecture designed to give the soldier drone operator the ability to carry his drone and accessories into the field protected from impact, deploy it quickly and operate it from a special pouch that unfolds over the chest. This modular textile product is also a tactical vest and has space for weapons and ammunition required of a typical combat soldier as drone soldiers must also operate in front-line combat situations. One of its unique dimensions is that the drone pack can be deployed over the head bringing it directly to the front of the operator.

Within the first days of the war, Lior Textiles was almost sold out of all its advanced vest stock. The constant orders for equipment from departments from the army and police Security Teams as well as individual soldiers, Reserve Soldiers, and Active Forces arrived constantly throughout the day. Soldiers tried on different gear and uniforms and consulted with Lior designers on sizes, function, and fit.

According to owner and CEO, Yitchak Bookris, “During this conflict, we have found ourselves forced to make decisions every day as to what product to prioritize. We try to help everyone but decisions to produce one tactical item inevitably meant others were put on stand-by. I believe the focus is providing the basics for combat soldiers, magazine pouches, grenades, first aid, and water backpacks. Yet we still innovate as our designers produced a unique triple-compartment six magazine pouch, the Lior Arsenal Kangaroo Pouch. We sewed three IDF Single Cartridge pouches together and added two first aid pouches on the outer edges.

This design is like having 5 pouches in one and saves the soldier time setting up his tactical vest while keeping critical items he needs close together and easily accessible. This is a unique Lior product and we receive a lot of positive feedback about it and could become a standard IDF feature.”
