Elbit’s combat system was presented during a parade held last week in the city of Quezon, as part of the celebration of the 88th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFPs).

Among the systems on display were the Sabrah light tank, based on the GDELS's ASCOD 2 chassis, which includes a 105 mm cannon and a turret with autoloader, as well as Elbit's communications systems, was presented. In 2022, Elbit won a contract worth $172 million to supply dozens of light tanks to the Philippine Army.

The Philippine Army's ASCOD 2 Command Vehicle also made its debut during the AFP's 88th Anniversary parade. It has C2 and comms from Elbit Systems and is equipped with Elbit's UT25 unarmed turret with a 25mm autocannon.

The Philippine website Maxdefense notes that the size of the UT25 appears to have been reduced compared to those installed on some of the Philippine Army's M113A2. The one on the ASCOD 2 is probably a newer variant (Mk 2 or equivalent) compared to those on the M113A2s.

According to the report, Elbit Systems previously confirmed that the UT25 turret can fit the 30mm autocannon if the Philippine Army wishes to do an upgrade. The UT25 is practically the same as the UT30 unammed turret except for the gun size they carry.

Further presented in the parade are the Philippine Army's M125A2 IFVs with Elbit's 120mm armored mortar 15 of which were purchased by the army in early 2022 and the ATMOS 155mm self-propelled howitzer system.
