EuroTrophy’s Managing Director, Dan Kalfus, provided production and delivery figures for the Trophy active protection system (APS) at the Future Armored Vehicles Survivability (FAVS) 2023 conference held in London this week.

According to Kalfus, the joint European venture of the Israeli company Rafael, the German KMW, and General Dynamics Land Systems Europe (GDELS) is producing 40 Trophy APSs and 500 countermeasures per month. In addition to being supplied to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the system is delivered to Germany and Norway.

One Trophy system has been supplied to Germany for integration tests on a Leopard 2A4 main battle tank (MBT), 23 have been qualified and have entered service on German Army Leopard 2A7A1s, and 23 and 54 of the systems, respectively, have been ordered for Leopard 2A8s being procured by Germany and Norway. The Trophy is standard equipment for the Leopard 2A8.

In addition to Trophy production by Rafael Defense Systems for the IDF, the APS has been manufactured by Frankfurt-based EuroTrophy in Kassel and Kaiserslautern in Germany since earlier this year.
