Emtan, an Israeli manufacturer of light weapons and rifles for armies and law enforcement agencies, announced that it has taken over the exclusive representation of the Swedish tactical sights company AIMPOINT in Israel, and will market all of its products to institutional customers and the civilian market in Israel.

IsraelDefense has learned that the company's products are already in use by the IDF and municipal security forces.

AIMPOINT manufactures "red dot" sights and tactical sights under US and NATO military standards. Emtan stated that the sights were tested by its own hands in abrasion and durability tests in harsh environmental conditions and they meet the company's quality requirements for supplying them to all of the company's customers in Israel and around the world.

In other company news, Emtan also reported that the multi-year contract for the supply of MZ4P rifles to the Spanish Guardia Civil has also been successfully completed and all the rifles have been supplied to the Guardia Civil.

The contract signed in 2022 through Guardian (the representative in Spain of Emtan) was for the supply of 5,798 MZ4P rifles in 5.56 mm caliber produced by the company and included the supply of two batches of rifles: 2,899 rifles in 2022 and 2,899 rifles in 2023. IsraelDefense learned that the value of this deal was about €6 million.

According to Emtan, in this contract as well, the choice of the Guardia Civil for the MZ-4 P 1.5" EU rifle was carried out through a tender process and difficult tests against veteran European manufacturers (among others HK, Beretta, CZ, ZIG, FN) and here too the Israeli rifle received the highest technical score.

The acceptance tests for the rifles included tests for resistance to prolonged firing and abrasion, tests for resistance to environmental conditions, and strict safety tests. The company says that the most stringent test was an attempt to detonate the rifle by firing live ammunition when the barrel was blocked.

In this test, most firearms will explode while endangering the shooter, but the use of special alloys from the aviation field in the MZ4 rifles allowed the weapon to both pass this test and continue to function in continuous fire despite firing into the barrel obstruction.

Emtan stated that "there are many challenges in the work and supply of firearms to government officials, especially in Europe, but the investment pays off when news and photos are received from the field that the weapons are successfully used to prevent crime and terrorism in Israel and in many countries."

Last month, we reported that the company also concluded a three-year contract for the supply of 9,216 9 mm caliber RAMON pistols to the Civil Guard worth approximately €2.5 million.
