Israeli Minister of Defense briefs CENTCOM commander on “Firm Hand” exercise

The two-week exercise will test the IDF’s preparedness for a prolonged armed conflict on multiple fronts

Israeli Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant, held a meeting with CENTCOM Commander, General Michael “Erik” Kurilla at the MoD headquarters in Tel Aviv on Tuesday evening, during which he provided a briefing on the launch of the IDF exercise, “Firm Hand,” which simulates a multi-front threat on the State of Israel.

The “Firm Hand” exercise, which began on Monday and is expected to last for approximately two weeks, will simulate a multi-arena battlefront in land, sea, air, and cyber. The exercise will test the IDF’s preparedness for a prolonged armed conflict on multiple fronts.

According to the MoD communique, Gallant also spoke with Kurilla about the importance of US involvement in ensuring stability and expanding the circle of peace in the Middle East. Gallant also raised the significance of joint exercises and the further deepening of cooperation between both countries’ militaries and defense establishments.
