The Singaporean army is in the process of evaluating Smash 2000 smart rifle sight system made by the Israeli company Smart Shooter. According to Shepard Media, Singapore’s Defense Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) is leading a trial in collaboration with the Singapore Army to explore the potential and future technologies found on the Smash 2000 rifle sight system. This trial is part of the DSTA and army’s consistent exploration of novel weapon technologies.

Singapore is not the first Asian country to consider using this system. At the end of 2020, we reported that the Indian navy has procured smart shooter SMASH 2000 rifle sights as one of the steps taken against possible naval threat from China.

The SMASH 2000 is a smart electro-optical rifle sight that includes a fire control computer. The sight significantly increases operational shooting accuracy and significantly improves the hit rate for a variety of targets, both stationary and mobile.

According to Michal Mor, CEO and Founder of Smart Shooter, "SMASH systems are active and operational in a variety of forces around the world, including the IDF, the US Army, the Indian Navy and various other armies, and we welcome anyone who chooses to advance technologically and enable its soldiers to deal with any ground, air, mobile or stationary target, with maximum efficiency."
