“The IRGC is the world’s largest terror organization, involved in planning and carrying out deadly acts of terror and destabilizing the Middle East,” said Israeli PM Bennett

Following the US administration’s decision to keep the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on the Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO) list, a major sigh of relief was heard in Israel’s defense and diplomatic corridors.

“President Biden is a true friend of Israel who is committed to its strength and security,” said Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, adding that “Over the past few months we made our stance clear — the IRGC is the world’s largest terror organization, involved in planning and carrying out deadly acts of terror and destabilizing the Middle East.

“This is the right, moral and correct decision by President Biden, who updated me on this decision during our last conversation. For this I thank him."

Prime Minister Bennett and President Biden’s last conversation took place last month, Sunday, April 24th.

Foreign Minister Yair Lapid also referred to the American decision, during a joint press statement with Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, in Jerusalem this morning.

“In recent months, Prime Minister Ganz, Defense Minister Bennett and I have worked closely with the Americans on this matter, and the American decision is further proof of the unbreakable alliance between us and the US, based on shared values and strategic interests,” said Lapid.
