Troya Tech Defense, an Israeli manufacturer of electro-optical systems and devices, has recently announced the development of a series of small and lightweight laser pointers, meant to be equipped on light weapons, weapon systems or to be used by operatives. The Hawkeye pointers and designators are lasing devices for close or long tactical range, in correlation to the users’ requirements.

The Hawkeye, Ein Hanetz in Hebrew, compliments the company’s products’ names, all named after birds of prey. The pointer, as the name suggests, designates, and points to enemy targets, used for mobilizing forces in the combat field and assist with directing and operating weapon systems. The company also offers the possibility to use the laser module as an integral part of additional systems according to the customers’ need.

According to the company, the Hawkeye enables safer and more convenient operation by the operatives, during day and night. As part of the pointer series included options, Troya allows the users to choose between a vast range of operation types and lighting capabilities: visible, invisible (IR, to be used in conjunction with night vision devices), combined (visible+ IR) or different colors (for example Red and Green).

In addition, some of the models include a flashlight together with the laser, which is also available in visible or IR light.

The Hawkeye uses various power of lasers emittance, according to the users’ requirements, and is based on rigorous Military standards. The use of either an AA or CR123 battery allows for customer needs’ based versatility. In addition, a mode selector enables the users to choose the desired operating mode in an instant and to “lase” the target, using a remote cable pressure paddle switch, attached to the weapon system, or via an integrally designated operating button.

Troya’s CMO, Tomer Snir, points out: “Due to the (justified) trend of reducing the weight carried by operatives, we have identified an immediate need to present the market with a small, lightweight and high-end laser pointer.

"Any gram/ ounce added on to the operative’s weapon system, at the end of the day impacts the quality of shots fired, after the long operating hours and combat fatigue. The Hawkeye assists this aspect by utilizing a super simple and intuitive interface, which heightens the speed of shooting as well as, of course, its accuracy."
