A contract to sell radars to Bahrain is revealed in advertising by bats.be, a subsidiary of IAI in Belgium. These are coastal radars under the BATS’ GR12 brand, an alternative name given to radar made by Elta.

״The Bahrain Defence Forces (BDF) selected BATS to provide an Integrated Coastal Surveillance System to protect the shores of a military base in the country”, according to the publication.

“BATS' GR12 staring radar technology will be at the heart of the solution. The system will provide medium and far range and nearshore and on-shore detection and tracking and compile them into an overall tactical situation picture presented to the operators.

"The contract was signed in the second half of 2021, and delivery is scheduled for 2022."

IAI has been using BATS to sell products in the Gulf for years. Last March, the UAE purchased a counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS). BATS is also active in Africa. This past November, IAI won a contract to provide UN bases in Mali with security. BATS executed the agreement.
