Brig. Gen. Avi Gil to be appointed as military secretary to prime minister 

Gil will be promoted to the rank of major general. The decision was made following consultations with Defense Minister Benny Gantz, and at the recommendation of the IDF chief of staff, Lieut. Gen. Aviv Kochavi

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett decided on Sunday, July 11, 2021, to appoint Brig. Gen. Avi Gil as military secretary to the prime minister. The decision was made following consultations with Defense Minister Benny Gantz, and at the recommendation of the IDF chief of staff, Lieut. Gen. Aviv Kochavi.

In coordination between the prime minister, the defense minister and the chief of staff, it was decided to raise the rank of the military secretary to major general, as was done in the past.
