Japanese communications corporation NTT announced last week that it will establish an innovation laboratory in Israel focusing on the fields of cybersecurity, robotics and digital health. The laboratory, which will serve as a business focus in Israel for all of the subsidiaries of NTT, will officially open in the coming months, and work for the integration of Israeli technologies in the company's products and services. The laboratory will also work to strengthen business cooperation with Israeli companies.

Assa Sasson, a reporter for The Marker website, said that the NTT Corporation provides solutions to some of the world's leading businesses. It has 982 subsidiaries and is considered one of the biggest players in the Japanese communications market with annual sales of more than $100 billion. It has more than 300,000 employees around the world and operates in more than 80 countries.

The laboratory will be managed by Noa Asher, who said that "Israeli companies that cooperate with the various business units of NTT and with the subsidiaries will be able to operate via them not only in Japan but also in all the other markets in which we operate. The announcement on the establishment of operations in Israel signals to the rest of the Japanese countries the importance of tightening economic relations with Israeli innovation."
