Heads of Hamas rocket manufacturing network in Gaza assassinated

Senior members of the Hamas "general staff forum" including the commander of the Gaza city brigade, the head of the cyber command and the missile improvement project, and the head of the weapon production network, were assassinated in a joint operation by the Israel Security Agency and the IDF

In a joint operation by the Israel Security Agency and the IDF, senior members of the Hamas "general staff forum" including the commander of the Gaza city brigade, the head of the cyber command and the missile improvement project, and the head of the weapon production network, were assassinated. The four senior figures assassinated in the attack were:

Bassem Issa – Commander of the Gaza city brigade. A senior Hamas military figure. Served as head of the Gaza brigade since 2017. Was involved over the years in many terrorist attacks and served as a senior figure in the organization's weapon production network. Directed the operation of forces in the rounds of fighting with Israel. His assassination will significantly impact the functioning of the brigade and the Hamas military wing.    

Jamaa Tahla – Head of the cyber command and leader of the missile improvement project for the Hamas terrorist organization. Held the research and development portfolio for Hamas. Tahla was the right-hand man of Mohammad Deif and a leading figure in the strengthening of the Hamas. The strike against him is a significant blow to the project by Hamas to increase its strength.  

Jamal Zabeda – Head of the development and projects department in the Hamas weapon production headquarters. Was the leading figure in the rocket manufacturing network of Hamas. Had a doctorate in mechanical engineering and specialized in aerodynamics, with training in a variety of technological fields, and was the main and most significant source of knowledge in the weapon production headquarters of Hamas. Was one of the senior research and development figures in Hamas, and promoted major projects for the strengthening of Hamas.       

Hazzem Hatib – Head of the engineering department in the weapon production network of Hamas. Also served as deputy head of the weapon production network. 

Other senior Hamas figures were also killed in the attack in which the main Hamas R&D facility and a large amount of equipment was destroyed. They included Sami Radwan, head of the technical department of Hamas military intelligence, Walid Smali, head of the industrial equipment department in the weapon production network, and about 10 other militants from the weapon production and R&D network of Hamas.
