In a television program broadcast on the Chinese CCTV channel that covered urban combat training of a brigade belonging to the 71st Army of the Chinese Land Army, soldiers were shown using a pistol shooting kit called in the Chinese Army CF-06 that is reminiscent of the well-known "CornerShot" system made by Israeli company Silver Shadow.

In recent years, it has been reported that China has made at least three CornerShot-like weapons: the HD-66, which is based on the CornerShot, the CF-06 and the CS/LW9. According the chief designer of the HD-66 and CF-06, both systems are indigenous and were not based on the CornerShot.

The CornerShot, designed for urban combat scenarios, allows the operator to fire the weapon while taking cover, thus reducing the danger to the operator. In Israel, the kit is used by elite and other units of the IDF, special units of the Border Police, and the Anti-Terror Combat Academy. The kit was also sold to the British Ministry of Defense. In 2016 it was reported that the kit was being used by Myanmar's special forces, and in May 2020 it was reported that the kit had also been sold to the Philippine Border Guard.

There was no comment from Silver Shadow.
