Former IMDO Head: Iran in Possession of 4,000 km-Range Missiles

While Iran has publicly declared a 2,000 km ballistic missile range limit, a former Israeli defense official claims that Tehran is in possession of missiles capable of hitting targets at twice that distance.

“They [the Iranians] claim that they will not make missiles with a range of more than 2,000 km,” says Uzi Rubin, former head of the Israel Missile Defense Organization. However, he says, “they recently tested, last year, a missile that can theoretically go to 4,000 km, but they tested it only to the range of 800 km. That doesn’t mean that it won’t fly to 4,000 km, it just means that the test was limited to 800 km.”
