Russia, Egypt to Hold Joint Air Defense Drill Later This Year

Russia’s Southern Military District Spokesman Vadim Astafyev on Monday said that the District’s air defense troops will take part in a joint Russian-Egyptian drills dubbed “Friendship Arrow” that will be held in Egypt in the fall of 2019, according to a report by TASS.

Preparations for the drill, the first such exercise between the air defense forces of the two countries, began earlier this year. It is scheduled for late October or early November, and will be attended by some 100 Russian troops. Will we finally see Egypt’s S-300 system in action?
