The second day of Cybertech 2019 is underway at Expo Tel Aviv, with thousands of people attending the conference and exhibition.

The opening plenary of the second day brought heads of states, senior government officials and top executives in the cyber industry.

Prime Minister of Lithuania Saulius Skvernelis, said "five years ago, cybersecurity concerned only governments and leaders. Since then, cyberattacks have become a national challenge, where no country is immune. This is Lithuania's top priority which has turned it into a leading country in the cyber industry today. The cooperation with Israel was launched a few years ago with the support of the PM Benjamin Netanyahu. As a result, we agreed on an expansion of the cooperation. The EU must do more to strengthen its connections with Israel, as Israel is an important ally and therefore a stronger effort must be made to increase this cooperation".

Prof. Dieter Kempf, President of the Federation of German Industries: "German companies successfully dictate the digital change. For example, digitization of industrial production. Germany is a leading supplier of 'Smart Industry'. There are many challenges to securing intellectual properties in this era and for this a broad comprehension of the cyber challenges is necessary. Malwares have increased by 800 million and every day new ones are coming in. We must grasp that a strong and quality cyber defense will create a secure transformation into the digital era. People must feel safe and German companies play a major part in it - they're known for their ability to implement strong security to their various products."

Prof. Dan Blumberg, Vice President of Ben-Gurion University, said that "In the last decade, Ben-Gurion University has developed an evolved ecosystem between companies, organizations and the academia. This all began for us in 2004 with our partnership with Deutsche Telecom. Five years ago, we opened the Advanced Technologies Park, which combines industry with academia.

"Today, we announce a new partnership with Rafael, which is going to hire hundreds of engineers in Be'er-Sheva, which is turning into a cyber and AI Center".
