The UK Ministry of Defense has published a report that states the need to take important measures to combat against evolving strategic threats.

The sixth edition of Global Strategic Trends, “The Future Starts Today” report warns the UK of advanced future threats that can cause potential damage to the country’s defense and security.

UK Defense Secretary Gavin Williamson said, “This report makes clear that we are living in a world becoming rapidly more dangerous, with intensifying challenges from state aggressors who flout the rules, terrorists who want to harm our way of life and the technological race with our adversaries. Identifying these threats means we can continue to build an armed force that can stay ahead of them.”

According to Army Technology, the report is the product of a two-year work of the UK MoD think-tank Development, Concepts and Doctrine Centre (DCDC).

The Strategic Defense and Security Review that was launched three years ago highlighted extremist terrorism, state-based threats, technology advancement and the gradual loss of the rules-based international order as four major areas of threat.
