Israeli Troops Head to Cyprus for Joint Exercise

The exercise is part of the ongoing cooperation between the IDF and the Cypriot Military

According to the IDF Spokesperson's Unit, an extensive military drill will be held in Cyprus, involving air and ground forces from both countries.

The exercise is said to be part of the ongoing cooperation between the IDF and the Cypriot Military. The IDF emphasizes that the exercise was preplanned as part of the military's 2017 training program and is intended to maintain the competence and readiness of the forces.

Israel and Cyprus have held several joint military drills in recent years. Training in Cyprus allows the IDF greater freedom of action than in Israel, as well as an opportunity to exercise in different terrains which are difficult to simulate in Israel.

Cyberwar between the United States and China

Commentary: Here we are at a commercial and quasi-conventional war between two powers, i.e. an old Western power, on the one side, and an Asian power on the other which, however, does not want at all to be relegated and closed in the Pacific. Certainly China is currently not lagging behind on the cyberwar issue. Nevertheless it does not want to use it as a substitute for conventional war or psywar for dual-use technologies, nor to play the game of the total defeat of a hypothetical "enemy".
