Elbit Systems’ Seagull USV Awarded “KNVTS Ship of the Year 2017”

Seagull provides multi-mission capabilities including Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), Mine Counter Measures (MCM), Electronic Warfare (EW), maritime security and underwater commercial missions

At the annual Maritime Award Gala held on November 06, Seagull, Elbit Systems’ multi-mission Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV), was announced the winner of the Ship of The Year 2017 by the Royal Dutch Association of Shipping Technicians (KNVTS).  The award is granted to the most technologically innovative ship presenting superior design, economics, and sustainability.  

Seagull is a 12-meter long USV that can be operated from a mother-ship or shore stations. According to the company, it provides multi-mission capabilities including Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), Mine Counter Measures (MCM), Electronic Warfare (EW), maritime security and underwater commercial missions, leveraging modular and interchangeable mission system installation and offering a high level of autonomy.  Seagull provides mission endurance of more than four days and features C4I capabilities for enhanced situation awareness.
