World's Top 100 Defense Companies in 2017

The US-based Defense News website publishes its annual index of the world's leading defense companies. Where do the Israeli industries rank on the list?

Defense News publishes an index listing the world's top 100 defense companies according to financial results.

Elbit Systems is the leading Israeli defense company according to the index, occupying the 27th place in the list. Israel Aerospace Industries is ranked 33rd, while Rafael Advanced Defense Systems takes the 37th place. IMI Systems is ranking 92nd. Of the four largest defense companies in Israel, only Rafael ranks higher than last year.

"Data for the Top 100 list comes from information Defense News solicited from companies, from companies’ annual reports, from analysts, and from Defense News staff research," the website stated. "Companies were contacted by Defense News and asked to fill out a survey reporting their total annual revenue and revenue derived from defense, intelligence, homeland security and other national security contracts."
