Israel, Honduras Sign $300 Million Framework Agreement
The agreement will be performed over a ten-year period. Among other things, Israel will establish a national CERT in Honduras, and provide vessels to its navy
According to Israel Defense sources, Israel would provide Honduras with a range of weapons in the coming decade. Among other undertakings, Honduras will purchase vessels from Israel Shipyards, as well as cyber services from Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), including the establishment of a national CERT. Other Israeli industries will also be included in the deal.
This mega G2G (government to government) deal was concluded by SIBAT, the International Defense Cooperation Directorate of the IMOD (Israeli Ministry of Defense).
A previous report by janes.com reveals that the deal will include the refurbishment of part of the Honduran Air Force's fleet of combat aircraft and helicopters.
"Included in the refurbishment project are the FAH's 10 Northrop F-5E/F Tiger II, 10 Cessna A-37B Dragonfly, nine Embraer EMB-312 Tucano fixed-wing aircraft, and its entire helicopter inventory, which includes six Bell UH-1H, six 412EP, and two Hughes 500D platforms. Most of these aircraft have been grounded due to budgetary issues," Janes reported.
The Israeli Ministry of Defense did not comment on the issue.
