Saab has revealed the RBS15 Gungnir next-generation anti-ship missile system at the Farnborough International Airshow 2018 for the first time.
The RBS15 Gungnir continues the tradition of robust and autonomous all-weather capability of the RBS15 missile family but utilizes a new design. The new system integrates with pre-existing RBS15 infrastructure.

The Pentagon said over the weekend that a Chinese surveillance ship is currently spying on the US-led Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise off the coast of Hawaii.
"The US Pacific Fleet has been monitoring a Chinese navy surveillance ship operating in the vicinity of Hawaii outside US territorial seas," US Navy Capt. Charles Brown, a spokesman for US Pacific Fleet, said in a statement. "We expect this ship will remain outside of US territorial seas and not operate in a manner that disrupts the ongoing Rim of the Pacific maritime exercise."

After the F-35’s cost has dropped to about $89 million per unit, the price tag for the next advanced stealth fighter is about to be doubled.
In April, it was reported that Lockheed Martin plans to offer Japan a stealth fighter design based on its F-22 Raptor and advanced F-35 Lightning II aircraft.
Now, the Yomiuri Shimbun reports that the F-22, F-35 fighter hybrid proposal for Japan will cost $177 million per aircraft.

Two Japanese naval ships have docked at the Red Sea port of Jeddah for a training and goodwill mission in a bid to strengthen relations with Saudi Arabia. The two ships, among them the destroyer Makinami, will remain in Saudi Arabia until July 17, 2018. The Saudi commander of the naval base in the Western Squadron, Rear Admiral Mohammed Al-Aslani, and the Japanese Consul General in Jeddah, Masayuki Miyamoto, welcomed the Japanese crews on July 13, 2018.
