Iran is still conducting negotiation on a “take it or leave it” offer, and is also exploiting new elements that were not present when the original nuclear deal was signed in 2015, said Israeli Prime Minister, Yair Lapid, during a phone conversation held yesterday (Monday) with his French counterpart, Emanuel Macron.

Lapid raised the concern that these new “elements” will pave the way for significant investment to flow into the country’s military and terrorist network.

The two leaders spoke against the backdrop of recent reports that Iran is close to returning to the nuclear deal after making concessions, such as wavering its major demand to remove its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) from the American terrorist list.

According to the Prime Minister’s office, Lapid reiterated Israel’s opposition to return to the agreement, as well as the need for a clear and equivocal message that there will be no additional concessions to the Iranians.

“We discussed the importance of preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon,” tweeted Lapid. “Iran cannot be allowed to endlessly buy time and receive more concessions while it advances its nuclear program and spreads terror worldwide.”

Lapid also tweeted a photo pf the conversation, in which he is seen sitting in the Prime Minister’s office with an iconic photo of the declaration of the State of Israel behind him.

During the conversation, French President Emanuel Macron emphasized his commitment to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

This morning, Iranian press reported that IRGC general Abdolfazl Alijani was killed in Syria, while serving as a “military advisor”. And the morning was also met with fresh threat against Israel. IRGC Aerospace Chief, Amir Ali Hajizadeh, said in an interview that while Iran doesn’t have nuclear weapons, it still has the ability to destroy Israel several times over.
