Report in Germany: Heron drone crashes in Afghanistan due to technical malfunction 

According to the report, it was apparently the result of engine failure. The sensors were removed from the drone, and the incident is under investigation

According to a report by gebauerspon, a Heron-1 drone made by Israel Aerospace Industries that was being used by the German Army crashed in Afghanistan. The incident apparently happened about 40-50km from the city of Mazar-e-Sharif. It was the second incident of its kind since November 2020 when a similar incident involving a Heron drone of the German Army was reported.

According to the report, the German Army went to the crash site to remove the drone's sensors. The German Army confirmed that the incident occurred.
