UVID Dronetetch 2024, Israel’s largest UAV/drone event, opened this morning at the Expo Tel Aviv Convention Center for the 11th time. The conference’s founder and chairman, Alon Unger, dedicated his opening remarks to the 134 Israelis still held hostage in Gaza and to the difficulties of holding a conference during this time of war, turmoil, and uncertainty. UVID is much more than a professional conference, Unger stressed. It is a place for coming together, being among friends, and connecting.

Major Austrian Defense Acquisition: GDELS Secures €1.8 Billion Contract for 225 PANDUR EVO Vehicles

General Dynamics European Land Systems - Steyr (GDELS) will deliver an additional 225 PANDUR 6x6 EVO wheeled armored vehicles to the Austrian Armed Forces, worth €1.8 billion.

It appears that these vehicles carry Israeli systems. The German site Soldat & Technik reported in August 2023 that the GDELS revealed for the first time the model in question in this article and it carries a UT-30 turret manufactured by Israeli Elbit Systems equipped with a 30 mm caliber automatic cannon.

Elbit to Supply $300 Million Armored Vehicle Systems to a European Customer

Israeli Elbit Systems announced that it was awarded a contract for approximately $300 million to supply weapon, reconnaissance, driving, and situational awareness systems for approximately 230 armored vehicles, to an undisclosed European customer. The contract will be performed over six years and includes custom design, production, lifecycle maintenance, and complete in-country support.

Brazil: Minas Gerais Military Police Set to Upgrade Equipment with Arad 7 Rifles

Israel’s IWI will supply the Military Police of Minas Gerais (Brazil) with Arad 7 assault rifles. The Spanish website Defensa.com reported that last week the Police signed a contract with Israel Weapons Industries )IWI) for approximately 3.1 million dollars, for the supply of a batch of 1,310 ARAD 7 assault rifles in caliber 7.62 x 51 mm.

IWI won this tender over the following companies: B&T (United States), Ceska Zbrojovka - CZ (Czech Republic), Lewis Machine Tools – LMT (United States), and Kale Kalip (Turkey).

Report: Romania Purchased Spike LR2 Anti-Tank Missiles for $92 Million

The Romanian media reports that the Romanian Ministry of Defense recently purchased Spike LR2 anti-tank missiles with a total value of approximately $92 million.

The Romanian website Profit.ro reports that the framework agreement for the supply of the anti-tank missiles was signed between the joint venture company Eurospike as the sole supplier and the Romanian national company Romtehnica, which deals in international defense trade.
