Finnish-Norwegian company Patria announced that the Finnish Army will purchase heavy Patria 6x6 armored vehicles as part of the Common Armored Vehicle System (CAVS) program. Finnish Minister of Defense Antti Häkkänen has authorized the Finnish Defense Forces Logistics Command to initiate a serial procurement of these vehicles from Patria.

The initial phase of the acquisition will involve obtaining one pre-series vehicle and 20 Kongsberg remote weapon stations, which will be integrated into the vehicles. The acquisition also includes an option for purchasing an additional 18 vehicles, as well as provisions for vehicle outfitting, maintenance, spare parts, and training.

Alongside Finland, the program currently involves Latvia, Sweden, and Germany. Launched in 2020, the collaborative effort has resulted in around 700 orders for Patria 6x6 vehicles.
