The President of the State of Israel, Isaac Herzog, spoke on the joint stage of Cybertech Global Tel Aviv and Sparks Innovation Summit this morning (Wednesday).

“The past six months have affected not only the Middle East but the entire universe,” Herzog said at the top of his talk. “It’s been a dark and painful time – but we’ve also seen the tremendous light, social resilience, caring, and determination of Israelis.

“In the face of unimaginable devastation and brutality, the Israeli community has shown unbelievable solidarity, resilience, and love. We have shown that we are unbreakable. The gathering here of some of the best and most creative minds in Israel and around the world says so much about the Israeli spirit and its ability to rise from tragedy, from unthinkable loss, and reinvent itself time and time again.

“We will rise from this too – stronger, more resilient, and more innovative. Already now, we can see the first blossoms of creation coming out of the destruction,” the President said, sharing an anecdote about a unique collaboration between Kibbutz Holit, one of the communities that suffered devastating losses during the October 7th terror attacks, and Intel Ignite.

“Joining forces, the kibbutz and Intel Ignite hey launched an amazing ag-tech and climate-tech accelerator, and now Holit will become a global center for food security and climate innovation – it will not just return to what it was, but develop further.”

“Hamas and Iran sought to destroy the cooperation in the Middle East,” Herzog continued. “About two months before the massacre, President Biden presented an amazing vision of connectivity between Israel and Asia through the Middle East, and the fores of evil wanted to destroy this.

“We can turn this tragedy into an opportunity, build a Middle East 2.0. Everyone here can be part of this vision. Together, we can create new economic opportunities, protect and preserve our planet, join hands and link across borders, religions, and ethnic divides to shape a better future for the region. True victory will not be a victory for Israel, but for the entire region of the Middle East.
