“AI has evolved and entered our lives in a clap of thunder over the past few years, similar to the disruption on the internet when there was a lot of innovation. As far as cyber security, this is a double-edged sword,” explained Esti Peshin, General Manager of the Cyber Division of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) on the main Cybertech Global Tel Aviv stage this morning (Tuesday).

Speaking with serial entrepreneur and Cybertech chairman, Yossi Vardi, Peshin noted that “the bad guys are utilizing new AI technologies at a faster pace than we, the developers, are developing defenses.  Also, it provides them with the tools to adapt. The good guys need to come up with solutions to counter AI-led cyberattacks

“There are not enough cyber defenders in the world today,” Peshin stressed. “ AI enables us to improve – but since this is done via technology, this exact technology can be used by hackers. If we can harness AI effectively, we will be able to make the world more secure. But we must be smart about this, and make sure that it’s the good guys who use this technology.”

Peshin also spoke about the strategic solutions provided by IAI in the cyber domain:

  1. State-of-the-art tech
  2. Methodology
  3. Constant innovation
  4. Collaboration, creating a holistic solution
  5. Capacity buildup
