IDF Fires Patriot Missile toward Drone Approaching from Syria

The IDF on Sunday launched a Patriot anti-aircraft missile at a UAV that was spotted approaching from Syria. The drone was not hit and retreated from the border area following the launch

The IDF said on Sunday that a Patriot missile was fired at an unmanned aerial vehicle that approached Israel's border with Syria.

The Israeli military said in a statement that the drone had been identified before crossing into Israeli airspace. According to the IDF, the UAV was not hit and retreated from the border area following the missile launch.

"The IDF will not allow the State of Israel's aerial sovereignty to be violated and will operate to prevent any attempts to harm its civilians," the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said.
