Russia Expanding UAV Activity in Syrian Khmeimim Airbase

A satellite image released by the Israeli company ImageSat International (ISI) reveals a new hangar at the Khmeimim airbase in Syria.

The new hanger, which was deployed during the last week, is located in the maintenance and UAV area, near two similar hangars, which were deployed in December 2015 and June 2017. According to ISI, the main purpose of those hangars is to maintain delicate equipment, such as sensors and UAV components.

ISI assesses that Russia continues bolstering its presence in Syria, especially the UAV infrastructure and activity, despite recent media reports reporting their intentions to decrease it.
