The Islamic State fighters that remain in the city of Al Raqqa in Syria have brokered a deal that would allow them to leave the city, according to reports from Syrian news agencies.

Al Raqqa once thought to be the capital of ISIS in Syria, has been under heavy fighting in the last few months. A senior official of the Raqqa civil council told AFP news agency that a deal has been reached allowing about 300-400 ISIS fighters to leave the city. He also said that the deal also includes foreign-born ISIS fighters, something that the US-backed coalition denies.

According to reports, the deal allows ISIS fighters to leave the city using a number of human shields. Reports also claim that about 300 civilian hostages are being held by ISIS fighters in the city, and from those hostages, they will pick those to act as shields for their withdrawal.
