The Columbian Air Force acquired two new Kfir TC-12 fighter jets from Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) to replace three similar units that crashed several years ago, Gen. Carlos Eduardo Bueno Vargas, Commander of the Colombian Air Force (FAC), told the webinfomil.com website.

The two aircraft have already arrived at the Germán Olano Air Base, also known as Palanquero, where their systems are being upgraded to meet the standards of the Kfir fighters already in service with the FAC.

Following the incorporation of the two new jets, the Kfir fleet will comprise 23 fighters.

According to the report, Colombia is also considering replacing the Kfirs for new fighters.
