VisionWave Bets on AI Security With D-Fence Acquisition
The defense technology company adds AI perimeter protection, counter-drone and surveillance capabilities as demand for smart defense technologies accelerates

U.S.-based defense technology company VisionWave is expanding its AI-powered defense platform with a planned acquisition of Israeli security company D-Fence Electronic Fencing Systems, a developer of AI-based perimeter security and electronic fencing solutions for governments, military organizations and critical infrastructure operators worldwide.
The companies have signed a term sheet under which VisionWave will acquire at least 51% of D-Fence, with an option to acquire the remaining stake within two years. The proposed deal is subject to due diligence, regulatory approvals and the signing of a definitive agreement.
Founded more than 30 years ago, D-Fence develops intelligent security systems designed to detect, classify and respond to physical threats in real time. Its technologies combine AI-powered intrusion detection, autonomous surveillance, counter-drone capabilities and command-and-control software that can integrate with existing security infrastructure.
According to the company, its systems have been deployed across more than 100 critical infrastructure projects in 12 countries, protecting airports, military facilities, ports, border crossings, energy sites and other sensitive locations. Its deployments include Ben Gurion International Airport, Haifa Port and Israel Defense Forces facilities.
The acquisition is part of VisionWave’s strategy to create a broader AI defense ecosystem combining physical security, autonomous systems, RF sensing, cybersecurity and counter-drone technologies.

Uriel Bin, founder and CEO of D-Fence, said the partnership would help accelerate the company’s global expansion while bringing its technologies into a wider AI-driven defense platform.
The move comes as governments and critical infrastructure operators increasingly invest in AI-enabled security solutions to address evolving threats, from drone attacks to sophisticated physical intrusions. VisionWave and D-Fence expect the transaction to close in October 2026, subject to final approvals and closing conditions.
